I cannot stop thinking about my most resent is Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking. Susan Cain is a brilliant researcher and her passion for the topic is quite evident in her book. I could relate very much to her story from the book’s introduction, where she helps negotiate loan terms for a South American manufacturing company, as I myself have been in many critical meetings with clients as a management consultant and an important skill that comes to rescue for most introverts is to ask important, meaningful questions.
Susan went into great detail examining introversion from all angles. Her observations form the lens of culture were quite fascinating. The stories from Silicon Valley shed important light on how introverts can often feel in extrovert-ideal work places.
Learning about great introverts the world has seen very much opened my eyes to their strengths and innate gifts. I would highly recommend this book to others.
